He Started Reading About Real Estate at 11. By 22 He Was a Multimillionaire. Here's His Method.
Let me set the scene for you.
A 17-year-old boy from Naples, Italy, has just suffered a serious injury that ends the career he has spent years building. He has no backup plan. He doesn't speak much English. His family wants him to take a normal job and settle down.
He becomes a multimillionaire instead.
My guest on the latest You're The Boss is Jacopo Iasiello, CEO of Luxury and Wealth Group, Forbes Italy contributor, and author of Healthy, Rich and Happy. And everything about his story is a lesson in what happens when you refuse to accept the version of your life someone else wrote for you.
The Soccer Injury That Started Everything
Jacopo started reading books about real estate investors and entrepreneurs at the age of eleven. Not because anyone told him to. Because he already knew he wanted something different.
At fourteen he left home to pursue professional soccer. At seventeen and a half, a serious injury stopped that dream in its tracks.
"At that moment, it was really difficult emotionally. I didn't know what I needed to do, where I needed to start."
What happened next is the part of the story most people would not predict. He did not settle. He reinvented. He negotiated a deal with his family — he would complete his PhD, but he would also start a business.
And then he went to work.
From Zero to Multimillionaire — The Four-Step Framework
When Jacopo started his jewellery company, he had no money, no industry knowledge, and no connections. What he did have was a method.
He calls it four pillars, and he still uses it today in every business he builds.
Research. Understand the market deeply before you commit to it. Jacopo spent time in the places where other jewellers worked, asking questions, learning how the industry operated from the inside.
Grow your knowledge. Study. Go to where the people who know things are. Let yourself be a student before you try to be an expert.
Take action. This is the one most people delay indefinitely. Jacopo had no money, so he applied for a government grant available to young entrepreneurs. He got it. He opened the shop.
Contribute. Add value. Always.
The first six months were rough — he was sleeping on the second floor of his shop because nobody was coming in. Then he identified the problem: location. He repositioned, borrowed his last 8,000 euro from his father, and from there built a multimillion dollar jewellery chain.
The lesson? Failure is data. Use it.
The Networking Secret Nobody Talks About
Jacopo now has relationships with billionaires. He sits in rooms that most people will never get near. And when I asked him how, his answer was simple — and worth writing down.
"When you meet somebody, the first mistake everybody makes is trying to understand how they can take from them. In reality, you need to understand how you can add value to what they already have."
He also made a point I have been thinking about since we recorded: not everyone you give to will give back.
Some people are givers. Some are takers. Learn to recognise the difference — not to become cynical, but to protect your energy and direct your generosity wisely.
Reciprocity is real. But it only works with the right people.
The MPBE Method — Four Pillars That Change Everything
This is the part of the conversation I want every person running a business, raising a family, or just trying to function at their best to sit with.
Jacopo wakes up at 5am every morning and works through what he calls the MPBE method. Four things. Every single day.
M — Meditation. Transcendental meditation. The practice that a friend introduced him to when he first moved to Florida alone, not speaking English, not knowing a single person. He started meditating and everything shifted.
P — Prayer. Jacopo's approach to prayer is not passive. He prays with intention and attention — first giving, praying for someone else, and then asking with total clarity for what he wants his day to look like. He visualises it. He is specific.
B — Biohacking. Using tools to understand and optimise your body. For Jacopo this includes an Oura ring to track his sleep and recovery, red light therapy, supplements calibrated to his age and physiology, and brain-stimulating audio programmes. He is quick to add: you do not need expensive devices to start. "Fill your body.
That is already working." Get sunlight before 10am. Move. Sleep well.
E — Exercise. Not generic exercise. Exercise specific to your body, your age, your goals. Jacopo makes the point that training the same way at fifty as you did at twenty is a mistake many people make — one that costs them time, health, and energy they cannot afford to lose.
The purpose of all four? Energy. Because without energy, nothing gets built.
What This Has to Do With Real Estate — and Your Business
Jacopo's book Healthy, Rich and Happy uses real estate as the vehicle through which these principles generate wealth. But he is very clear about something important: the MPBE method is not a real estate strategy. It is a life strategy.
It does not matter what industry you are in. It does not matter what you are building. If you do not start your day with the energy to show up fully — the deals, the clients, the decisions, the relationships — all of it suffers.
Build the inside first. The outside follows.
The One Word That Sums It All Up
I asked Jacopo at the end of our conversation what he would put his success down to in a single word.
He did not hesitate.
Resilience.
A journalist wrote about him when he was twelve years old — playing soccer, not yet a businessman — and the line that stayed with him was this: this young player is really resilient. He will do everything until the last moment.
That sentence has guided him ever since.
Whatever you are building. Whatever setback you are navigating. Whatever version of yourself you are trying to become — resilience is not optional. It is the whole thing.
